There are two basic experimental installations functioning in the PNPI:

Reactor WWR-M

Accelerator

The prospects of PNPI development are essentially connected with the construction of the high flux reactor PIK with the power 100 MW and the thermal neutron flux 10¹⁵ n/cm²s. The reactor will possess hot, cold and ultracold neutron sourses, eight neutron guide systems and about fifty posotions on the beams.
